About Us

A Name Carried With Pride

Don Chucho wasn't a coffee brand. He was my grandfather, a restaurateur, an entrepreneur who built bakeries and restaurants all over Colombia with his hands and his heart. He loved coffee the way Colombians love coffee: A part of who we all are!

When I decided to start this company, there was only one name that made sense. Café Don Chucho is my way of honoring him and carrying that entrepreneurial spirit into something I believe in.

Born in Colombia. Built in the USA.

I was born in Colombia but raised in the United States. I watched American coffee culture evolve from a morning ritual into a full-blown obsession with origin, process, and flavor. But something was always missing: great coffee at a low cost. Not the generic "Colombian blend" on a supermarket shelf but the actual coffee that Colombians are proud of. The kind that comes from small farms where families have been growing exceptional beans for generations.

Café Don Chucho is the bridge between those two worlds. It's 100% Colombian coffee imported directly with no middlemen, no mass blending, no compromise and brought to Americans at the quality level it deserves.

Why Direct Import Matters

Most coffee sold in the United States passes through multiple hands before it reaches you: the farm, an exporter, an importer, a roaster, a distributor, and finally a retailer. Each step adds cost and removes transparency. By the time it hits your cup, you may have no idea where it actually came from or whats actually in the bag.

We work differently. Café Don Chucho sources directly from specialty producers in Colombia's Antioquia region with small farms who pour extraordinary care and love into every harvest. We know who grew our coffee, how they processed it, and what they were paid for it. That traceability isn't a marketing talking point. It's the foundation of everything we do.

The Coffee We Carry

Every coffee in our lineup has a story behind it a specific farm, a specific process, a specific community.

Our Caicedo comes from the mountains of Caicedo, Antioquia, grown by the small producers grown at over 2,000 meters above sea level and scored 84+ by the Specialty Coffee Association. Caicedo delivers the clean, balanced, comforting cup that Colombian coffee has always been capable of, just rarely delivered at this level.

Our Tropical Summer is something else entirely. Crafted by farmers members of a social project called Proyecto Renacer in the La Sierra neighborhood of Medellín, this coffee undergoes a 170-hour honey fermentation, a meticulous, carefully controlled process that transforms the bean's natural sugars into an explosion of tropical fruit, cocoa, and caramel.

La Sierra was once a neighborhood defined by hardship. Today it's a neighborhood defined by extraordinary coffee, and every bag you buy directly supports the families who made that transformation possible.

The Spirit of Don Chucho Lives Here

My grandfather was nicknamed Don Chucho. He built businesses from scratch, employed people, fed communities, and showed his family what it means to take a dream seriously. I did not have the opportunity to grow up with my grandfather as he passed away when I was a child, his legacy lives on through the stories told my mother and uncles.

That's what Café Don Chucho is about. Not just great coffee. Coffee that carries a story worth telling, from people worth supporting, for a cup worth savoring.

Every bag you buy brews more than coffee. It brews opportunity for the farmers who grew it, and for the dream that brought it to your door.

From my family to yours,

Thank you for your support!
